WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID?The role of a mental health first aider (MHFA) is very similar to that of a physical health first aider. Instead of treating physical injuries, a MHFA spots, supports and signposts colleagues towards better mental health.
Since its inception in Australia in 2000, 1.7m people worldwide have been trained as MHFAs in 26 countries. In the UK it may soon become a legal requirement to have designated MHFAs in the workplace. |
